Waterway Safety Update - Swimming Spots Declared Safe for Swimming

Posted on December 11, 2024

We’re excited to share some fantastic news! Thanks to regular monitoring and our commitment to maintaining safe water conditions, several local swimming spots have been declared safe for swimming.

Meander River (Eggmont Reserve, Birralee Road, Westbury)
Liffey River (Bracknell River Reserve, Louisa Street, Bracknell)
South Esk River (Hadspen Lions Park, Main Street, Hadspen)

Recent testing shows bacteria levels at these locations have dropped below guideline limits, meaning it’s a great time to enjoy our beautiful rivers safely.

Lake Trevallyn (Blackstone Park, Blackstone Park Drive, Blackstone Heights) remains unsuitable for swimming as bacteria levels are still above safe limits. Recreational swimming is not recommended, and anyone choosing to swim does so at their own risk. Testing and monitoring will continue early this week, and we’ll provide updates as soon as conditions improve at Lake Trevallyn.
