Recycle Rewards - Container Refund Scheme
From 1 May 2025, Recycle Rewards is live — and that means you can now return eligible drink containers for 10 cents each. It’s a simple way to tidy up, cut waste and give back to your community.

What’s in it for you (and the planet)?
Drink containers make up 45% of Tasmania’s litter by volume — and this scheme will reduce that dramatically.
The result? Cleaner streets, parks and rivers, and valuable materials going back to be recycled instead of landing in landfill.
How it works

Not accepted:
Plain milk bottles, wine and spirits, large juice/cordial containers and food tins.
Part of something practical
This is a Tasmanian Government initiative to cut litter and power a stronger recycling system. It’s funded by beverage suppliers, so the people who produce containers help pay to clean them up.
And with 49 refund points across the state, everyone can get involved — including charities and community groups raising funds.
