Grants & Funding
Council Community Grants
Grants of up to $3,000 are available to community organisations for projects that address community needs through:
• Special Events
• Sport and Recreation
• Community Development
Grants cannot be awarded for money already spent or to directly fund a salaried or waged position. Priority is given to supporting projects that encourage self-help and self-reliance, improve access to existing services, attempt to address an unmet community need or enhance opportunities for those who are disadvantaged.
Applications for Council's Community Grants are taken all year round, however, they are only assessed in March, June, September and December.
Grant information sessions and help for applicants
Grant information sessions are held in May each year at the Council office. These sessions offer an opportunity to discuss project ideas and learn about what makes a good application. If you require assistance applying for a Council Community Grant or specific information phone Council on 6393 5300
Residents of Meander Valley who have been selected on merit to participate in an event of national or international significance may be eligible for sponsorship to assist with travel costs. For eligibility requirements and more information, phone Council on 6393 5300
Townscape Incentive Grants Scheme
Property owners in the Meander Valley Local Government Area may apply for a grant to improve the external appearance of their building and gardens in keeping with traditional characteristics and heritage principles. A maximum grant of $1,200 is available to each successful applicant.
Regulatory fee refunds for community organisations
Not-for-profit community organisations may be eligible for a refund for some of the regulartory fees charged by Council. Regulartory fees are typically fees associated with:

Applications for a Regulartory Fee Refund must be made in writing and must include official confirmation that the regulartory fee has been paid. Regulartory fees that Council collects on behalf of a third party, such as the State Government are ineligible for refunds.
Applications for regulatory refunds must be made in writing and sent to:
