Scams Awareness Week kicks off on 25 August 2025

Scams Awareness Week kicks off on 25 August 2025, and it’s more important than ever to stay informed and vigilant.

In 2024, Tasmanians reported losing over $5 million to scams, with over 65% of losses affecting our most vulnerable community members.
Join Consumer, Building and Occupational Services (CBOS) and Libraries Tasmania during Scams Awareness Week for a free Scams Information Session. There is a session being held at the Launceston library on Monday 25 August as well as sessions being streamed online. They will help you:
  • identify common scam tactics
  • recognise warning signs
  • learn what to do if you or someone you know is targeted.
To find out more information or register for an online session, visit the CBOS website:
