The section of the Midland Highway that connects to the Bass Highway is undergoing repairs in early February.
Work will now take place from Sunday, 1 February to Friday, 6 February 2026, between 6:30 pm and 6:30 am.
During these times, a detour will be in place for drivers needing access to the Bass Highway.
The detour will take road users along the Midland Highway, through the Kings Meadows Link underpass, back onto the Midland Highway (Launceston-bound), and then onto the Bass Highway at Prospect.
Lane closures and a reduced speed limit will be in place. Please allow up to 15 minutes extra travel time and follow the directions of traffic controllers and signs.
