Current employment and volunteering opportunities
Meander Valley Council offers career options in a vast array of professions. Engineering, environmental health, accounting, planning and civil construction are just a few. In 2011, Meander Valley Council became an Employer of Choice and continues to be recognised following the successful renewal of this recognition in 2020. This means we have been recognised by the Tasmanian Government as a workplace with an outstanding ability to attract and retain skilled employees.

Volunteering opportunities
The Great Western Tiers Visitor Centre and the Deloraine and Districts Folk Museum
We are always on the lookout for willing volunteers to fill a range of vital roles at both these iconic attractions. Phone 6362 5280 or call in to the Centre at 98-100 Emu Bay Road, Deloraine and collect a Volunteer Introduction Pack.
Community Cars
The Deloraine and Westbury community cars provide a vital service, transporting over 1200 passengers each year. Without this service, many people would find it difficult to make it to their medical appointments. For more information about becoming a volunteer driver or to help with coordination, phone 0427 504 546 (Deloraine) or 6393 2717 (Westbury)
There are also a number of sporting clubs, show societies and not-for-profit organisations that make valuable contributions to the Meander Valley Community. These are great opportunities to share and gain new skills whilst lending a hand. Visit www.volunteeringtas.org.au to find a role that suits you.
