Remember to shop local this Christmas
Posted on November 09, 2020
It may not be the first place you think of when it comes to Christmas shopping, but the Great Western Tiers Visitor Centre in Deloraine has an amazing array of gifts that are truly Tasmanian.
“This year we have a wonderful range of unique gifts that have been beautifully handcrafted in Tasmania. We also have endearing Australian Christmas decorations including wombat inspired baubles” Centre manager, Vicki Pryer said.
Staff at the Centre have been busy ‘decking the halls” and are at the ready with the Centre’s free Christmas gift wrapping service.
“This year, in addition to free gift wrapping, customers will receive a free gift and a free greeting card with all Christmas purchases over $30. It’s just our way of helping to lift Christmas spirits after what has been a very challenging year,” Vicki said.
If you are looking for that unique gift that is authentically Tasmanian or, you want to shop local for your decorations this year, the Great Western Tiers Visitor Centre is open 7 days at 98-100 Emu Bay Road in Deloraine. There is also an opportunity to do some late night shopping on 15 December, when the Centre will be open until 8pm.
“We are encouraging residents to continue to support local businesses this year. By choosing to purchase a unique gift, eat out or buy a coffee we can all help the local economy recover,” Vicki said.
