Community Grants & Sponsorships
Meander Valley Council is proud to offer a range of Grants and Sponsorships to support local community groups, organisations and individuals.
Round 1 - 10 June; Round 2 - 10 September; Round 3 - 10 December and Round 4 - 10 March.
Major Project Grant - up to $10,000 - Round 1 Only
Meander Valley Council allocates funds to help not-for-profit community groups and community organisations to deliver projects that benefit the community. The Major Project Grant will provide financial assistance to one group to deliver one major project within Meander Valley during a financial year (July – June).
The outcomes of the project will need to align with the Community Strategic Plan (2024-2023) and be consistent with the principles of Meander Valley Place Brand. This grant is intended to empower community by fostering networks, building skills, attracting volunteers, addressing local priorities and growing community’s strengths.

Three Year Event Grant - up to $15,000 over 3 years - Round 1 Only
Meander Valley Council allocates funds to help not-for-profit community groups and community organisations to deliver projects that benefit the community. The Three Year Event Grant will provide financial assistance over three years to a community group to deliver an annual event within Meander Valley.
The outcomes of the event will need to align with the Community Strategic Plan (2024-2034) and be consistent with the principles of Meander Valley’s Place Brand. This grant is intended to enable new events to emerge, establish and develop sustainably within our region.

Organisation Sponsorship - up to $500
Meander Valley Council provides sponsorship to organisations, groups, sports clubs and service organisations that operate in the Meander Valley Local Government Area and encourage community wellbeing through participation and volunteering.

Establishment Grant - up to $250
This grant supports local people to work together to address community needs by assisting in the early development of clubs or associations through providing for small costs that may be required for things like group meetings, new resources and legal incorporation.

Council Reimbursement
This grant applies to Community Organisations that have undertaken infrastructure or facility projects or community events within the Meander Valley that incur local government regulatory fees. Typically, these fees include building, permit authority, planning, plumbing, place of assembly and food license fees. It does not apply to fees collected by State Government.

Meander Valley School Award - up to $150
Schools in the Meander Valley local government area are eligible for a Meander Valley School Award. Each Meander Valley (DECYP) school will be responsible for selecting one student to receive this award at their annual presentation evening.
