Councillor Susie Bower resigns her position
Posted on June 28, 2021
After just over two and a half years of her four year term, Councillor Susie Bower has this morning advised Meander Valley Council of her resignation, effective from today.
Ms Bower was elected as a councillor in November 2018. In April, Susie took a leave of absence from Council to unsuccessfully contest the Tasmanian State election. Ms Bower is now running as a candidate for the Federal seat of Lyons.
“On behalf of Council I would like to thank Susie for her service over the last couple of years and wish her well for her campaign ahead of the Federal election,” Mayor Wayne Johnston said.
Council will now liaise with the Electoral Commissioner to determine the process to fill the casual vacancy.
