Meander Valley has ranked FOURTH on the Tassie leaderboard for container returns. Yes, we’re basically recycling royalty.
It’s a huge achievement and a big shout‑out to everyone who’s been rinsing, returning and doing their bit. The everyday effort is absolutely adding up.
Tassie’s north‑west is officially the best‑performing region in the state. Truly a power move from our side of the island.
Tasmania has now returned 100 million containers in just 11 months since the container refund scheme launched in May 2025.
So… what does 100 million containers actually mean?
- Carbon emissions saved = taking 7,500 cars off the road for a year
- Energy savings = powering 1,700 homes for a year
- Water savings = 250 Olympic-sized swimming pools
And if you're wondering how tall that really is: 100 million containers = more than 8,000 Cradle Mountains stacked on top of each other.
