A cultural showcase featuring dancers from Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, East Timor and the Solomon Islands at Meander Valley Performing Arts Centre
Residents of Meander Valley will not have to travel far to get a taste of the Pacific Islands this month with over 50 dancers set to perform at the Meander Valley Performing Arts Centre in Deloraine.
"This event celebrates the diversity of the Meander Valley community and it's a rare and valuable opportunity to learn more about Pacific Island culture, particularly as few of us will have the chance to visit all these nations," Mayor Wayne Johnston said.
Dancers from five different nations will showcase their own cultural repertoires accompanied by traditional music and song.
"The dancers are eager to share a small piece of their homeland with the wider community and this is a real gift and we are proud to be supporting the development of culture and diversity in our municipality," Mayor Johnston said.
The Pacific Islands Dancers Showcase starts from 5.30pm on Saturday 22 April at the Meander Valley Performing Arts Centre, 2 Meander Valley Road, Deloraine.
Entry to the event is free, but tickets are essential and are available through Eventbrite. To secure your seat, click here
