Meander Valley Council welcomes newest elected member
Rodney Synfield has today undertaken his Declaration of Office after being elected on recount. Council had been operating with eight elected members after Barry Lee resigned his position on Council in early February, citing personal reasons.
“Whilst it was disappointing to see Barry move on from the role, we appreciate the efforts of the Tasmanian Electoral Commission staff for determining who would fill this vacancy so quickly,” Mayor Johnston said.
Cr Synfield returns to the role after serving as a member of Council last term.
“Undertaking this role is very rewarding, but it also comes with its challenges, so on behalf of Council I would like to thank Cr Synfield for stepping up to work for the Meander Valley community once again,” Mayor Johnston said
