Posted on April 01, 2025

If your pet’s microchip is registered with HomeSafeID, it’s time to make a quick update! HomeSafeID could be closing its website soon, so you’ll need to transfer your pet’s details to another registry to keep their details registered.

If your pet’s microchip is registered with HomeSafeID, it’s time to make a quick update! HomeSafeID could be closing its website soon, so you’ll need to transfer your pet’s details to another registry to keep their details registered.

Here’s how:

Check if your pet is with HomeSafeID
If you know your pet’s microchip number, you can easily run a free online search.

Not sure?
For dogs: Contact your local council — they’ve got your details.
For cats: Head to your vet to get the microchip scanned.

If you’re with HomeSafeID, transfer your details to another provider
Some registries, like Global Micro Animal Registry, offer this transfer for free, while others may charge a small fee. If you’re not with HomeSafeID, you’re all set — no action needed!
