Lifetime dog registration tags are on their way!
Posted on June 01, 2021
This year a metal tag will replace your dog’s plastic tag and just like your pet, the new metal tag is for life!
This year, Council will be introducing lifetime dog registration tags.
The new metal tags will be distributed when renewal notices are sent out in early to mid June.
"By issuing metal tags, we prevent thousands of plastic tags being discarded every year. Metal tags also have the advantage of being able to be engraved on the back with your pet's name and your contact number," Mayor Wayne Johnston said.
Pet owners will still renew their dog’s registration annually as normal, however plastic tags will no longer be issued.
If a lifetime metal tag is lost or damaged, replacement tags will be available from Council for $10 by phoning 6393 5300 or emailing mail@mvc.tas.gov.au
Mayor Johnston and his working dog Nico, who will
be wearing some new bling when his metal lifetime
tag arrives in June.
