Turn Your Stash into Cash! Participate in the National Garage Sale Trail initiative by hosting a Garage Sale on 11-12 and 18-19 November
Meander Valley Council has teamed up with Garage Sale Trail to bring this unique event to our community. Garage Sale Trail is truly Australia’s festival of pre-loved stuff, where over three million pre-loved items will go up for sale over two big weekends of garage sales in November.
By joining forces with the Garage Sale Trail, we aim to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever before, delivering on our commitment to promote sustainability, reduce waste, and foster community connections by encouraging individuals to rethink waste and host a sale or shop the trail.
How Does It Work
Anyone can participate! Register your garage sale for free on Meander Valley Council page of the Garage Sale Trail website. Whether you’re a homeowner, community group, school, or local business, you’re welcome to join the trail.
When you sign up you receive:
- a listing on the national sales map viewed by over 200,000 bargain hunters
- a downloadable pack of promo resources
- a how-to guide, tips and support from the garage sale experts.
Why Participate?
Reduce Waste: By giving new life to pre-loved items, you help reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing and disposing of goods.
Community Building: The Garage Sale Trail is a fantastic opportunity to connect with your neighbours and build a sense of camaraderie.
Make Extra Cash: Declutter your home and turn your stash into cash by selling items you no longer need.
Find Hidden Gems: Discover unique and one-of-a-kind items at bargain prices.
Impact and Sustainability
Since its inception, the Garage Sale Trail has diverted over ten million items from landfills, saved countless resources, and helped communities raise funds for various causes. It’s a testament to the positive impact individuals and communities can have when they come together to make a change. For these reasons, it was a no-brainer for us to partner as we transition away from former practices that hasn’t championed sustainability.
