Rolling Road Closures for the Spirit of Tasmania Cycling Tour

Posted on February 19, 2025

This weekend, Tasmania Police will manage rolling road closures as cyclists race through our beautiful Meander Valley. These closures will temporarily block roads while the riders pass, helping to ensure everyone’s safety.

The closures will move along with the race route, meaning roads will quickly reopen as soon as the cyclists have passed. If you’re travelling in the area, please allow extra time for your trip as delays may be up to 15-20 minutes long.

When & Where

Saturday, 22 February
Rolling closures through Kimberly, Moltema, Red Hills, Chudleigh, Mole Creek, Weegena, and Needles from 7:30 am – 3:00 pm.

Sunday, 23 February
Rolling closures will be in place through highland lakes road between Deloraine and Meander, as well as in Quamby Brook and Golden Valley, from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm. The race will start on West Parade, Deloraine, between West Church and Emu Bay Road.

A Heads-Up for Locals
If you live along the race route, you may need to wait briefly when entering or exiting your property. Planning a little extra time for your trip can help things run smoothly.

Thanks for your patience and support as we welcome this exciting event to our region!
