Weekly Update - Recreational Water Quality - Friday 17 January 2025

Posted on January 17, 2025

Egmont Reserve and Blackstone Park are currently considered suitable for swimming.
Bracknell River Reserve and Hadspen Lions Park are currently considered unsuitable for swimming.

Water quality testing results received by Council this week (ending Friday 17 January 2025) indicate the following:

  • Egmont Reserve (Birralee Road, Westbury) - This site is currently considered suitable for swimming.
  • Bracknell River Reserve (Louisa Street, Bracknell) - Bacteria (enterococci) levels are above Guideline limits. Swimming is not currently recommended at this site. Recreational water users enter the water at their own risk.
  • Hadspen Lions Park (Main Street, Hadspen) - Bacteria (enterococci) levels are above Guideline limits. Swimming is not currently recommended at this site. Recreational water users enter the water at their own risk.
  • Blackstone Park (Blackstone Park Drive, Blackstone Heights) - This site is currently considered suitable for swimming.

The elevated bacteria levels are likely due to rainfall earlier this week, which tends to wash contaminants into river systems. Water quality at all sites will be tested again next week.
