There’s been some interest in the future of Mount Leslie Road and its connection to Pitcher Parade, and we want to provide some clarity around this important development. As we work to improve infrastructure for the growing needs of our community, the extension of Mount Leslie Road plays a crucial role in enhancing local connectivity and supporting future growth. Here’s what you need to know about this project, how it fits into the broader plans for the area, and where things stand right now.

The 2024 Mount Leslie Road extension project, highlighted in red on the location map, is expected to be completed by May 2025.

Is Mount Leslie Road being extended to Pitcher Parade?

While the works currently being undertaken by Council do not extend fully to Pitcher Parade, the remainder of the road is identified for construction as part of the development of a 52-lot subdivision at 122 Mount Leslie Road – illustrated by the green line on the location map above. Developer timeframe for construction of road currently unknown.

Why does Mount Leslie Road need to be connected to Pitcher Parade?

The Prospect Vale and Blackstone Heights Structure Plan 2015 identified the extension of Mount Leslie Road to connect to Pitcher Parade as a key strategic imperative. This extension will provide a crucial connection into Prospect Vale’s growth area by: reducing overreliance upon Country Club Avenue, improving local connectivity and distribution of traffic across the network, and provide extra capacity in the local system in case of emergencies such as fire or accidents.

How can I find out more about the future road construction and associated subdivision?

A 52-lot subdivision at 122 Mount Leslie Road was publicly advertised and approved in 2022. A copy of the subdivision plan, including road extension, can be viewed in person at Council’s office in Westbury.
