Commitment to Child Safety

See how Meander Valley Council is dedicated to protecting and nurturing the safety of our children and youth.

Meander Valley Council is committed to being a Child Safe Organisation.

This means the Council will:

  • prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children;
  • champion the legal and moral responsibilities to keep children safe;
  • recognise that children should feel and be safe at all the Council’s facilities and activities;
  • have no tolerance for child abuse or harm;
  • treat all child safety concerns and allegations with the utmost seriousness;
  • foster a culture where children, families, workers, and the community feel safe and encouraged to report concerns about the safety of children;
  • encourage the participation of children as valued members of the community; and,
  • maintain robust policies and procedures to achieve these commitments and the Child Safe Standards.
