Homelessness Support

Meander Valley Council is dedicated to improving outcomes for people experiencing homelessness in our community. We will work closely with local service providers to address the many challenges of homelessness and ensure that community needs are met with care, dignity, and respect.

 

Need Support? 

Meander Valley Council is not a crisis service. Below is a list of community service providers that may be able to provide immediate and/or ongoing support. 

Housing Connect 
  • Description: Housing Connect can assist you with crisis accommodation, housing applications, private rentals and referrals to other services. Housing Connect is much more than a homelessness program, they provide comprehensive, person-centred housing support across a wide range of needs.

Call Housing Connect, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1800 800 588. 

Are you at risk of homelessness or in need of housing assistance? 

Call Housing Connect on  1800 800 588, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, or visit a Housing Connect office. 

Are you escaping family violence? 

If it is an emergency, call Tasmania Police on 000 or Family Violence Response and Referral Line on 1800 633 937.

Deloraine House & Meander House 
  • Description: Deloraine House is a community service organisation that works with individuals, families and groups to build community connectedness and participation and well being in Meander Valley.
