Eastern Play Space Strategy 2024 - 2034

As our townships continue to grow, it's vital we prioritise the value of our open spaces, recognise the benefits they provide to our community and how they enhance the Eastern side of our municipality.

Picture this: vibrant playgrounds, exercise spots, skate parks, BMX tracks, nature walks and open space, weaving through our neighbourhoods, all designed to enhance our community's recreational health and wellbeing over the next decade.

As our townships have grown, so too has our responsibility to manage, plan, build and renew our open spaces effectively. Informed by how Hadspen, Blackstone Heights and Prospect Vale have evolved as they've grown and prospered over the last decade, our Eastern Play Space Strategy is a comprehensive 10-year plan that provides strategic guidance on the development of our open spaces.

We've carefully crafted this strategy to be our roadmap to recreation, taking into consideration the needs of our diverse community, demographic trends, available open space, and adherence to safety standards. We've also identified areas where assets are under-utilised or not aligned with our community's long-term goals, and we're committed to optimising these spaces to better serve you.

But we need your input to make sure we're hitting the mark! How do you feel about our Eastern Play Space Strategy? Do you think it'll serve you and our community well over the next ten years? It's time to have your say!
