Deloraine and Districts Recreation Precinct Feasibility Study

At its meeting in January, Meander Valley Council received the recently completed Deloraine and Districts Recreation Precinct Feasibility Study.

The study was co-funded by the Deloraine & Districts Community Bank Branch of the Bendigo Bank and Meander Valley Council together with funding from the State Government Community Infrastructure Fund.

A Working Group was formed in 2017 to review and guide the direction of the feasibility study that was undertaken by consultants, Inspiring Place. The study investigated how we share, use and view public space and recreational facilities and considers options for facilities that will service the community of Deloraine and surrounding districts in the short, medium and long term.

“The study is a significant step forward. It has a wide scope and will provide Council and stakeholders with a foundation for decision making and will help us answer questions about how to serve Meander Valley in the short, medium and long term,” Mayor Craig Perkins said.

Council will now consider the Working Group’s recommendations in conjunction with additional stakeholder and community feedback.

A copy of the Deloraine and Districts Recreation Precinct Feasibility Study and the Working Group’s recommendations are available on Council’s website under latest news. .
