COVID-19: Important changes to Council's services and facilities

Council is implementing further measures to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). We understand that some of these measures may cause inconvenience, however Council is committed to ensuring core services continue to be delivered to the community. We appreciate your patience as we work to help keep our staff and the community safe.

Changes to customer service

From 5pm, Friday 27 March 2020, Council’s customer service office will be closed to walk-in enquiries. Staff will still be available from 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday to provide service by phone and email. Face to face meetings are still available if absolutely necessary however, these will be by appointment only and social distancing measures will be in place.

Urgent Council related enquiries

If your enquiry is urgent (eg. roaming dogs or livestock, trees over a road) please phone Council on 6393 5300 at any time.

Council Depots - no public access

From 5pm Friday 27 March, all of Council’s depots will be closed to public access.

Playgrounds, skate parks and fitness stations - closures

From 5pm Friday 27 March, all of Council’s playgrounds, skate parks and fitness stations will be closed to help minimise the spread of COVID-19.

Council barbecues - closures

From 5pm Friday 27 March, all of Council’s barbecues will be closed.

Council’s public toilets - partial closures

The number of available public toilets has been changed to allow Council to implement increased cleaning schedules where it is needed. This is flexible approach will be adjusted based on demand. To further limit risk, Council will be installing additional hygiene measures in available facilities.

Council’s self - contained RV rest stops - closures

In line with directives from the Federal Government, these facilities will close. This closure does not apply to patrons who are staying at a facility as an interim measure because their primary residence is not available or they are in transit, returning to their primary residence. Anyone remaining at these facilities for these reasons must apply social distancing.
