Meander Valley Citizen of the Year 2023

This Award is open to any resident of Meander Valley Council area who is 25 years or older (as at 1 January 2023) and is considered to have made a significant contribution to the Meander Valley Community.

Meander Valley Young Citizen of the Year 2023

The Young Citizen of the year is open to an outstanding individual, aged 10 - 25 years of age (as at 1 January 2023), who is considered to have made a significant contribution to the Meander Valley Community. The nominated applicant is expected to create a better future for Meander Valley in some way.

Criteria to aid assessors: This may be in the capacity of injecting ideas into the community for community development or for enhanced capacity building. It may include Mentoring Young People, or fundraising efforts for Meander Valley organisations or residents in some capacity. Applications may include but are not limited to these things.

Meander Valley Lifetime Contribution Award 2023

This award is open to Meander Valley Residents over 67 years of age who have continued to contribute and offer their services, skills or expertise, to support the MV Community.

Meander Valley Community Event of the Year 2023

This award is determined by the capacity the event has to bring the community together, foster a sense of place, build strong community connections, create a spirit of community and encourage inter-generational capacity.

Contribution to Meander Valley Sports Award 2023

The Contribution to Meander Valley Sports Award is open to any individual above the age of 18 years in recognition of their own personal sporting achievements. It may also include contribution to any sport in a pioneering, competitive, administrative, organisational, mentoring or coaching role.

Contribution to Meander Valley Arts & Culture Award 2023

The Contribution to Meander Valley Arts & Culture Award is open to person who has offered their services to extend the influence of arts &/or culture in the Meander Valley Region. This may include but is not limited to: Cultural awareness training or appreciation activities or events including indigenous and multi-cultural activities, movie, film, dance, drama, music, sound & lighting for events, provision of arts or creative pursuits of any nature relevant to fit the category.

Meander Valley Exceptional Volunteer Award 2023

This Award is open to any applicant who is a Meander Valley Council area resident and is of a minimum age of 15 years of age (as at 1 January 2023) and includes residents who have not yet reached the government recognized retirement age (as at 1 January 2023).

You don’t need to be daunted by the task of nominating your role model or inspiring colleague, community champion, friend, or family member. The best nominations are those that tell a story. They’re not always the best written or have a long list of attachments and referees, but they capture the characteristics of an extraordinary Volunteer making a difference.
