Community Strategic Plan - Final Draft Open For Feedback
View the final draft of the Community Strategic Plan
We’re excited to announce that, after extensive community input and countless hours of workshops, the final draft for the 2024-2034 Community Strategic Plan is here! The Community Strategic Plan final draft has approval to go to the community for it’s final stage of community consultation. This is your chance to help shape the future—feedback from this phase will be integrated into the final plan, set to be presented to the council in November.
Meander Valley’s Strategic Planning Framework within the Plan connects it to other key documents of the Council, such as the Annual Plan and Financial Management Strategy. However, the Community Strategic Plan is unique in that it defines the vision, purpose, values and strategic objectives that will guide the Council’s decisions and actions. While the Council plays many roles – provider, facilitator and advocate, the success of these community-informed strategic objectives depends on a collective effort as a community. The Draft Plan is designed within the new place brand, as an additional reflection of the community’s identity.
How will it shape our future?
Our Community Strategic Plan is a roadmap for all of us, both Council and the wider community, to guide our decisions and actions over the next decade. It's renewed every ten years (you can read our previous 2014-2024 Community Strategic Plan here), and the process always includes comprehensive community consultation activities in order to align where our community wants to go with how we'll get there.
Everyday, whether it's in local business, community groups, recreation, in planning new developments, and so much more, we all make decisions that are pivotal to creating a thriving future for our region. So, while this plan and its consultation activities are an endeavour of Meander Valley Council, it's important to note Council can't achieve the goals of our Community Strategic Plan alone.
