This new publication is intended to capture Council's commitment to young people in an 'easy read' style. It includes principles, current priorities and programs.

A Stepping Stones Leadership Camp for young people in Grades 5-8 who live in the Meander Valley is to be held on the 13 - 15 November 2009.
If you are interested in learning new skills, facing new challenges, building new friendships, becoming more involved in community, developing self-awareness, experiencing leadership and having lots of fun, then this camp is for you.

Westbury Youth Group will continue to run on its usual Monday nights.
CO-PILOTS is a community mentoring program designed to encourage young people to develop skills and confidence and find new pathways to learning and work. It links each young person with a trained adult volunteer to share a two-month project with a community focus.

Co-Pilots Mentoring Program

The Community Recreation Leaders' Award (CRLA) is a training program to extend the leadership skills of community volunteers aged 15 years and above. It offers a practical introduction to leadership in active recreation and is relevant to any ability, activity or setting. Participation involves 33 contact hours. The CRLA has been developed through a partnership between the Department of Education, Sport and Recreation Tasmania and local government councils.
