Voluntary Service Recognition

This program recognises and acknowledges voluntary service to the community by individuals.

Council makes these awards on an annual basis and presents them at its Australia Day function held each year on 26 January.

The following criteria have been developed to recognise voluntary service:

  • 1,000+ hours of service - presented with a framed certificate, and
  • 3,000+ hours of service - presented with a framed certificate.

Council also seeks those volunteers whom they consider have performed acts over and above normal volunteer work. Such volunteers will be recognised with a specially engraved plaque.

To be eligible for an award a nomination form needs to be completed by 28 November 2008 and forwarded to:
