Council is required under the Local Government Act 1993 to maintain a register of all public land. The reason for this is that any proposal to sell, lease, donate, exchange or otherwise dispose of public land is required to be publically notified, with an opportunity for appeal to the Minister of Local Government, in the event of a person being dissatisfied with the Council's decision to dispose of public land.
You also have the right at any time to object to us in relation to the omission or inclusion of land from the register. Objections need to be made in writing and addressed to:
