Pensioner Remissions

To be eligible for a Pensioner remission on rates you must as at the 1st July of the financial year be the owner/occupier of the property for which you are claiming a rebate and have one of the following cards:-

  1. DSS - Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) - a current PCC (is a card which has a 'date of grant' on or prior to 1 July of the year to which the rates relate).
  2. DVA - Repatriation Health Card ('Gold Card') - this card is determined as current by the expiry date in the bottom right hand corner. Only those cards bearing the inscription 'War Widow' or 'TPI' qualify the holder for a rate remission.
  3. Health Care Card - a current HCC (is a card which has a 'date of grant' on or prior to 1 July of the year to which the rates relate).

If you have recently become a pensioner or have recently moved into the Meander Valley Council area you will need to complete a Rebate form, which can be obtained by contacting Council on 6393 5300.

You will also need to provide a photocopy of your Pension Card before the 31st March in the relevant financial year when sending the form to us.
