Budget Relief for Meander Valley Residents
At the June meeting Meander Valley Council passed its 2012/2013 budget which will deliver a rate decrease to the majority of residential properties.
The $20 rebate for each residential property will in most instances see Meander Valley Council residential ratepayers pay less annual rates than last year.
Meander Valley Mayor Craig Perkins said " Today’s decision by Council recognises the fact that households in Tasmania are under pressure through cost of living increases, particularly in the areas of power prices and water and sewage charges and if our Council can help to ease the burden is some small way, it is the right thing to do for our residents.
