Liffey Falls Walking Track - Restricted Access

Liffey Falls Walking Track Restricted Access 1-31 May 2017 - as advised by Tasmanian Parks & Wildlife Service, dated April 2017

Access to Liffey Falls via Riversdale Road will be closed from 1 May to 31 May 2017 to complete the scheduled road repairs.  Visitors can still access the Liffey Falls Walking Track from the lower car park and campground situated off Bogan Road.

Please note: Liffey Falls viewing platform via the lower section of walking track is an approximate distance of 2.0km and a 2.0 hour return walk.

The new re-routed section of track is about 2.0km long and features a 12 metre span bridge at Quinns Creek as well as numerous small bridges, stone walls and walkways.  The re-routed track is at a higher elevation to avoid future flood impacts.

The new track follows the landscape's contours to minimise boardwalks and other structures, providing a more natural experience for the walk which is one of Tasmania's 60 Great Short Walks.

Legendary Tasmanian walking track John 'Snapper' Hughes and his team completed the track work, while the overall project was managed entirely by Parks & Wildlife staff.
